A job portal asks for 100 KB. Your photo is 3 MB. The upload bar stops, and an error pops up. That is the exact moment this image compressor to KB is built for.

How to reduce the KB of an image

1. Press Select Images, or drag the files onto the box. Add More lets you bring in extra ones.

2. Enter your limit in the Size field. I used 60.
3. Press Reduce Size.
4. When “Compression Complete” appears, the new size shows under the thumbnail.
5. Press Download.

Wrong file added? The small x on the thumbnail removes it.

What happened when I tested it

I used a portrait that was 2.22 MB and entered 60 KB. The download came back at 59.1 KB, a JPEG that sat just below the limit. At normal viewing size the face stayed clear.

How to reduce KB on a photo without losing the details that matter

File size comes from pixel count and compression strength. This tool changes the compression, so the result depends on the picture you give it.

• Begin with the first copy. A photo forwarded on WhatsApp has already been compressed once, and a second pass costs extra detail.
• Pick a sensible floor. Between 50 and 200 KB, ordinary photos hold up. Near 10 KB, skin and text turn rough.
• Leave a small gap. For a 100 KB limit, 95 is safer than 50.
• Simple backgrounds survive better. Compression hides less on a plain wall than on a busy market scene.
• Open the result before you submit it. Look at the face, and at any written text.

Photo not uploading? File size exceeds the limit?

That message means your file is above the number the portal allows. Read the limit on the form or in the notice, enter it in the Size field, and compress again. Then pick the new download, not the old picture, when the form asks for a file.

The same error again usually means the original got selected by mistake. Check the file name and size in your downloads.

Why the result can stay above your target

For a chat photo, an email attachment or a quick upload, sharpness is not always the goal. Enter a small number and the quality drops along with the size. Try two or three values and stay with the smallest one that still looks fine.
